During a search for Tom Hagen, the police found articles about criminal cases. Some of them are about unsolved murders.
After Tom Hagen was arrested in late April, the police conducted several searches at his home in Lørenskog. According to information from VG, they have found articles from, among other things, these criminal cases:
- The murder of Najaf Abbas, who was shot to death at the fast food restaurant Skårer Grill & Pizza in Lørenskog in May 2006. The murder was described as professional and pure execution. The case remains unresolved.
- The murder of Meta Øverli, who was stabbed to death in her own home in Høybråtenveien in Furuset on April 7, 2006. It was home help who found the 75-year-old when she arrived at the apartment at 9 am. The case remains unresolved.
- Police have also seized articles on other unsolved murder cases. These do not have the local anchor to Lørenskog, like the two previous cases.

Not questioned about the items
VG does not know if Tom Hagen himself has been in charge of the articles. Police have wanted to ask the billionaire about the items, VG is informed. However, since his release on May 8, he has not been questioned by the police. Hagen has also expressed that he does not want further questioning.
VG has asked defender Svein Holden several questions about the seizures. In an email, write:
– Due to my duty of confidentiality, I am prohibited from commenting on alleged seizures by the police. However, I would like to emphasize that it is demanding for the family to enter the third Christmas without knowing what has happened to Anne-Elisabeth Hagen. We hope that the investigation will continue in full force in 2021 and that the police will not surrender until the people behind the crime have been arrested.

In search of answers, the police have seized, among other things, approximately 20,000 pages of notes, in which Tom Hagen has written in detail about his daily life. The notes are taken from what he calls STG books, which stand for “strategy, tactics, and implementation.”
Among other things, it is written about a person who was involved in the marital conflict that arose between Tom and Anne-Elisabeth Hagen in 1993.

The evidence faded
During the investigation, several of the police evidence has also vanished. At one point, they accused Tom Hagen, among others, of deleting two phone calls to his wife on the day of the disappearance, which turned out to be incorrect.
In late October, the police told Nettavisen that they did not have sufficient evidence for a prosecution. Now that 2020 is drawing to a close, police say the investigation is still in full swing.
– How do you assess the possibility of solving the case during the next year?
– We do not want to make our assessments on the possibility of solving the case in 2021, says police inspector Agnes Beate Hemiø.
