New travel tips for Swedish regions

Low infection rates in several Swedish regions in the last two weeks are the reason why NIPH recommended on Tuesday to switch travel advice to, among others, Värmland from night to Saturday.

As usual, the government followed FHI’s recommendations and decided on Thursday to open more parts of Sweden.

Thus, Norwegians can once again choose to go to Harry’s shop, visit the cabin, or meet their acquaintances, without having to be quarantined when they return home.

However, keep in mind that the changes take effect from midnight on September 5.

The yellow mark is still in use, indicating that there is an increased risk of infection, and where the stimulus remains to take only the necessary trips.

Here Sweden is yellow

The following eight Swedish regions are now yellow: Värmland, Örebro, Södermanland, Gotland, Jämtland, Västernorrland, Västerbotten and Norrbotten.

This means that the Norwegians again can Go to the popular border trade spots Töcksfors, Charlottenberg and Åre, without activating the ten-day quarantine to fill shopping bags with Capri Sonne and ground beef.

On the map at the top of the article, you will see an overview of which Swedish regions are yellow and which are still red.

Also a new Danish region has now turned yellow, more specifically Zealand (not the whole island, but the region).

Not recommended for travel

At the same time, keep in mind that traveling to countries and regions that are yellow is not recommended either. The switch from green to yellow countries was made on August 15 to emphasize that all unnecessary travel should be avoided.

Going to a yellow region or yellow country does not trigger quarantine on the way home if you decide to go, as long as it is still yellow on the way home.

It is also worth mentioning that the exchange rate of the Swedish krona is also not particularly favorable at the moment, 100 Swedish crowns is just over 100 Norwegian crowns.

New red lands

At the same time that several of the Swedish and Danish regions change color from red to yellow, there are also some countries that change from yellow to red, and vice versa:

Italy and Slovenia will be red from midnight until Saturday September 5, while Cyprus will go from red to yellow at the same time.

On the map below, you can see which European countries are now exempt from the general travel advice and which are in red due to infection status.
