The person who tested positive has participated in the “Circus Maximus”, a closed event in Driv on September 26. The event must have had 100 participants.

The municipality and Driv are in the process of contacting the participants in the event. The municipality asks everyone who participated in the event to sign up for the tests.

– You do not know the origin of the infection

According to a press release from the Tromsø municipality, the infected person has not traveled. The site of infection is still unknown.

– Since there have been around 100 people present at this event, we now do not know who is the source of the infection. We also don’t know for sure if the infection occurred here. Therefore, it is important in infection tracking work to quickly check for an event like this; therefore, we asked everyone who was present to get tested, says Trond Brattland, chief infection control physician, in a news release.

– If you have symptoms of a respiratory infection, you should stay home. If you don’t have symptoms, there are no restrictions, she adds.

The units will be closed until Friday, October 9, when it will be evaluated if they will open.
