Another resident of the Villa Skaar Valstad nursing home died after being infected with the coronavirus.

The nursing home is one of the most affected by deaths related to coronary heart disease in the country.

A total of eight residents have died from the virus in the past two weeks.

– The nursing home is now a very difficult workplace and a very difficult place for residents, says the municipal chief doctor in Eidsvoll, Carl Magnus Jensen.

On Sunday night, a woman died in the late 1980s.

– It is also difficult for relatives. This has been a huge burden, says Jensen.

I don’t know how the virus got in

22 of the 23 residents were infected with the coronavirus in a short time in early November.

When the virus was discovered, 20 people were already infected. Both employees and residents. But they had no symptoms. We do not know how the infection got to the nursing home, the municipal chief tells NRK.

A total of 24 employees are also infected. That’s more than half of the employees.

– Several patients are clearly improving. So we hope and believe that the worst is over. But we have seen before that deterioration is occurring rapidly. So the situation is still very serious, says Jensen.

There is still one resident who has not been diagnosed with corona in the nursing home.

A resident of another nursing home in Eidsvoll also died on Sunday.

Two deaths by crown in Bærum

Also in Bærum, two people lost their lives this weekend.

One died in Bærum hospital on Friday. The other died today at the Gullhaug nursing home.

– With this, there are a total of three deaths in November. We offer our condolences and send our thoughts to the bereaved, says municipal chief physician Frantz Leonard Nilsen.

Today there have also been three new infected residents in the Stabekk residential and treatment center.

There is also a new infected employee at the Solvik nursing home in Bærum.

Deaths also in Lillestrøm

A crown-infected resident at a nursing home in Lillestrøm municipality died Sunday night.

– The person in question was sick and also received covid-19, and then passed away last night, says Mayor Jørgen Vik to Romerikes Blad.

The deceased was a patient at the Stalsberg residential and treatment center. There, ten residents and ten employees have been diagnosed with coronary heart disease.

This is the fourth crown-related death in a Romerike nursing home this week.

36 nursing home employees in quarantine

In Nesodden, it was announced on Sunday that an employee and five residents of the Nesoddtunet nursing home had been diagnosed with coronary heart disease.

36 employees have been quarantined. They are also all the occupants of the house.

The infection is in the dementia room.

It was an employee who brought the infection to the nursing home, according to the mayor.

Closed doors in Indre Østfold

The Indre Østfold municipality closes all nursing homes for visits from Sunday inclusive.

The cause is a confusing infection situation.

On Saturday, 13 new cases of contagion were registered in the municipality, two with an unknown contagion site.

Strict measures in Nannestad

In Nannestad, the infection has spread rapidly in a short time.

Therefore, the municipality decided on Sunday to introduce an order for sanitary napkins in public places. They also close gyms, museums and swimming pools.

Furthermore, private gatherings of more than ten people are prohibited.

This comes after the entire Nannestad ungdomsskole is under quarantine, after two students and eight other people have been diagnosed with the virus in a short time.
