Contrary to the advice of his own health authorities, President Donald Trump is calling for demonstrations as corona deaths hit a new record in the United States.
When President Donald Trump delivered his annual Thanksgiving address Wednesday, he asked people to come together for the holiday. This despite the fact that the country’s health authorities this year have begged people to stay home to avoid further corona infection in the vulnerable country.
It was in the fall speech “thank you speech” that Trump came up with the sensational call:
– I urge all Americans to come together, in private homes and in places of worship, to jointly say a prayer to God for all blessings.

The United States enters Thanksgiving with the highest death toll since May. On Wednesday, more than 2,400 Americans died from Covid-19 within a day, writes the AFP news agency. That equates to more than 100 deaths per hour.

– The CDC advises against traveling during the Thanksgiving period. It’s not a requirement, it’s a strong recommendation, Walke said.
– The safest way to celebrate Thanksgiving this year is at home with the people you live with, says Erin Sauber-Schatz at the CDC, writes NTB.

Air traffic figures may indicate that many Americans listen to the president rather than the health authorities. Because America’s airports haven’t been as busy since March as they were the week before Thanksgiving.
Between Friday and Sunday, more than three million Americans visited the nation’s airports. It is the busiest weekend since the country closed in March, writes Reuters.
On both days, there were about a million passengers at American airports. In the same week, more than one American died per minute related to COVID-19, the New York Times summary shows.

“Mother of all super spreaders”
The experts’ concern is well founded, because it will not be the first time that an increase in infection has been observed after the holidays in the country.
Corona infection also rose dramatically after the long weekends associated with Memorial Day in May and Labor Day in September, doctors from the CDC infection control center noted.
– Thanksgiving can, in the worst case scenario, become “the mother of all super spreaders,” warns doctor and former White House adviser Jonathan Reiner to CNN.
