New chaos on Hoppuka

[ad_1]

Earlier today, the German health authorities decided that Poles cannot participate in the opening race at Hoppuka. The reason is that Klemens Muranka gave a positive corona test yesterday.

The other jumpers were defined as close contacts by the health authorities. Therefore, no Poles participated in the qualifying in Oberstdorf tonight, which was won by the Austrian Philipp Aschenwald.

But now the case may take a dramatic turn. Muranka has performed a new coronate test that is negative. The other Polish jumpers also took negative tests tonight, this time for the second time.

Now the Poles are demanding that they be allowed to participate in tomorrow’s race anyway. This is confirmed by Norwegian sporting director Clas Brede Bråthen to Dagbladet.

A digital team leaders meeting has been announced at 9pm tonight. For Norway, coach Alexander Stöckl and Bråthen will participate.

– Status is that there will be an additional team leaders meeting tonight. Special situations require special solutions. But frankly, there are only winners if Poland can participate tomorrow, Bråthen tells Dagbladet, just before going to the meeting.

– How do you imagine a solution?

– I see two possibilities: All jumpers, including Poles, start first. We can also push a new classified, but it is not good. Then there are some who have been given a place today who will not get a place tomorrow.

Bråthen continues:

– The best thing is if we do a test round and the first round tomorrow with all the jumpers. We have done this before as a result of the playoffs being canceled. The top 30 go to the final round. So there are only winners. There is no one who benefits from Poland not participating, if it turns out that she does not have any diseases anyway.

In Poland, politicians have also gotten involved. Ski chair Apoloniusz Tajner demands the decision to refuse to start reversed.

– It is a jumping nation that has helped keep the sport alive. We must also see it in the perspective of this, says Bråthen.

The case is being updated!
