LØRENSKOG (VG) The Oslo Prosecutor’s Office has chosen to close the drug case against the former participant of the “Paradise Hotel” Mayoo Indiran (30).

This is confirmed by his defender, lawyer Inam Ghous Ali, to VG.

– Almost four years have passed since my client was arrested. The process that led to the final decision of the prosecution has taken too long. This despite the fact that the case has been part of a larger police operation with the police. My client has cooperated with the police, asked the police and answered any questions they might have. The way I see it, the case could have been dropped for him much earlier, says Ali.

Mayoo Indiran is relieved.

– I’m glad the case has finally reached a tipping point. It’s been a long and unpleasant four years, he tells VG.

Indiran says that he has lost sleep at night, that the case has been mentally stressful, and that he has been depressed and worried about the future.

– It is due to the uncertainty that you have to live with when the case is not finally decided.

– I never thought I had to serve time. I am completely convinced that I would be acquitted and cleaned, he says.

– Unnecessary identification

When VG met with Mayoo in February 2017 regarding his release from custody, he stated that he was awaiting an acquittal.

– I think it was unnecessary for the press to identify me. I feel like it was done only for my ethnicity, when I see that the press has not done the same in the cases against other reality celebrities, it says now after the closing.

Indiran says she has often been asked how the case is going.

– So I experience that most people have already decided and see me as a condemned man.

In the aftermath of arrest and custody, the 30-year-old has been frequently detained by the police, according to himself.

– Alcohol and drug tests have been done even during the day. All this because the press forged ties between the people and me in a criminal environment of which I have no knowledge.

Not bitter

Indiran believes it is sad that the case has led him to lose job opportunities in the media and entertainment industry.

– I am optimistic about the future and I am convinced that people will once again have the same positive image of me as before this case.

Mayoo says she has the right people around her in life now, growing old, and looking to the future.

– I am not bitter or angry with anyone, because I always try to be positive. I was also positive about the outcome of this case. I didn’t let it crush me, and I’ve gotten stronger because of it.

The prosecutor: – Without foundation

State prosecutor Andreas Schei explains to VG that Indiran was charged because large quantities of drugs were found in the house where he lived at the time.

– The police thought there was good reason to suspect that he had something to do with it, that he was involved. The court also meant that, so he was taken into custody. But the police asked for his arrest and I agree. We have no basis to claim that Indiran was familiar with or had anything to do with the drug party, Schei says.
