Viking created several chances in the first half, but couldn’t get the ball into goal when Godset goalkeeper Myhra made good saves.
Viking’s wasted chances were taken advantage of by an efficient visiting team that went ahead of Lars-Jørgen Salvesen just after the break.
The match appeared to end with a comfortable victory for Godset when Johan Hove made it 2-0 in the 74th minute, but with a reduction two minutes later he was level until the end.
Three minutes after extra time, the tie finally came for Viking as Yann-Erik de Lanlay ended a beautiful Viking attack and secured a draw.
On Sunday two weeks from now, a tough away game awaits the Siddis against Odd, while Strømsgodset plays at home against Start on the same day.

Myhra saved the farm
Myhra was in the impossible corner in the first half and prevented Viking from taking the lead before the break.
In the 24th minute, Joe Bell landed a good volley shot, but Myhra stopped at the corner and deflected the New Zealand midfielder’s attempt.
Two minutes later, the home team got several shots from a set piece and Sondre Bjørshol finally shot on goal from six meters. With a great parade of legs, Myhra managed to slip into the corner and just over a quarter of an hour later the last opportunity had to be in action again.
A big post hit Even Østensen’s head and then Myhra’s head who was luckier than good this time.
Strømsgodset was fortunate to go into halftime safely and took advantage of that right after the break.
Overtime goal saved Viking
Because in the 53rd minute Johan Hove sent a great pass to Lars-Jørgen Salvesen on his way to the back room and the Sørlandet forward was safe only with the goalkeeper.
Viking had another chance after the hour played, but shortly thereafter Godset was able to make it 2-0 when Myhra quickly started with a long draft to Moses Mawa, who tried to circle the goalkeeper rather than play Salvesen who was wide open facing the goal.
The lead was doubled in the 73rd minute when Hove was suddenly left alone in the open goal after a post went across the field and a team of Iven Austbø into the Viking goal.
Viking responded immediately as Viljar Vevatne outscored his namesake on Godset’s goal as he jumped higher in a corner and stabbed the ball unreachable into goal.
In extra time, the tie came for Viking and De Lanlay, meaning the Stavanger side remains undefeated in the league since a 1-2 loss to Kristiansund on 2 August.
