On Sunday night, Councilmember Raymond Johansen and Health Councilor Robert Steen presented new measures that will be implemented in the capital for the next two weeks.
Stores, restaurants and gyms must close now through March 15. The exceptions are grocery stores, pharmacies, liquor stores, and take-out. Organized outdoor leisure activities are not recommended for adults, there is a red level of measures in upper secondary school, and people are advised to avoid home visits.
But not only Oslo has high infection rates; Several of Oslo’s neighboring municipalities also report increasing infection trends. These municipalities are considering introducing Oslo measures:
Bærum
Harstad reinforces: – Viken infection
Infection rates in Bærum have increased significantly in the last week.
– We are very concerned about the infection rates in Bærum, which in the last week have been alarmingly high, says Mayor Lisbeth Hammer Krog in a press release.
The results of the tests show that it is the British mutant that dominates in the municipality, which the mayor considers “serious”.
Therefore, on Tuesday, municipal director Geir Aga will present a proposal for further strengthening of crown measures in the municipality.
– The new Oslo measures will be able to increase mobility in surrounding municipalities, we must take this into account in our assessments. National health authorities are very concerned that municipalities near Oslo coordinate their measures, says the mayor.
Lillestrøm
– Puts the great crisis staff
The municipal director of Lillestrøm, Trine Myrvold Wikstrøm, proposes to introduce measures similar to those of Oslo. The presidency will vote on the proposal on Wednesday at 8.30 am. If the measures are adopted by the presidency, all three will enter into force at 12 noon on the same day.
The mayor of Lillestrøm, Jørgen Vik, tells Dagbladet that they have had a 30 percent increase in infection from week 7 to week 8.
– More than 50 percent is the British variant. The infection situation in Lillestrøm is characterized by two things. One is that we have received very few vaccines so far and the other is that we have nothing to indicate that people are getting sicker, but the virus is much more contagious, Vik tells Dagbladet.
Lorenskog
On Wednesday at 09:00, the presidency will meet in Lørenskog to decide whether the municipality will follow the measures that have been introduced in the capital.
– We in Lørenskog must coordinate with the surrounding municipalities. It is not natural to be located as a separate municipality like an island between Oslo and Lillestrøm, Lørenskog Mayor Ragnhild Bergheim tells NTB.
Therefore, the measures to be presented to the presidency will be in line with the measures in Oslo, the municipality writes on its website.
Moss
The past weekend has been characterized by high infection rates in Moss Township: Since Friday, 68 new cases of infection have been recorded, according to Moss Avis.
On Monday at 4 in the afternoon there will be an extraordinary meeting of the presidency, in which it will be decided which rules of the local crown will apply to the municipality.
