Tottenham 1-1 Fulham

Check out Harry Kane’s stupidity at the top!

Before the London derby, there was a great atmosphere between Tottenham manager José Mourinho and Fulham manager Scott Parker. The latter thought it was outrageous to have a new opponent 48 hours before the game, while the Spurs coach thought there was nothing to complain about.

In the end, it was Parker who was able to smile.

A Harry Kane head knockdown midway through the first half sent the Spurs ahead. Then the Spurs squandered the chances and took advantage of Fulham in search of points. With just over 20 minutes to go, Ivan Cavaleiro tied and put the final score at 1-1 and distribution of points.

– It is a match that we had to win and decide in the first round. We let in a goal that we shouldn’t let in, sums up Mourinho on English television after the game.

The result means Tottenham is losing ground to the best teams in the Premier League. Spurs are now in sixth place, two points behind Manchester City, Everton and Leicester, four from Liverpool and six from league leaders Manchester United.

Mourinho’s men have now only won one of the last six in the league.

– It’s a bad number. When we lost to Liverpool, we struggled to top the table. So I felt that the team really didn’t deserve a loss. After that we have had bad results, and games that we should and should have had other results, says the Spurs coach.

Spurs dominance

The home team had the first chance of the game at six minutes. Heung-min Son found Serge Aurier who scored. Opposing defender Sergio Reguilón appeared at the right moment near the post and led him past the goalkeeper.

Fulham’s first danger was André-Frank Anguissa, but the Cameroonian’s hard shot was parried by Hugo Lloris.

Then the Spurs would have the biggest chances and Fulham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola would really show his skills. First, he reacted quickly and a deflected shot from Heung-min Son from close range after 18 minutes.

So did the French goalkeeper at Son’s next chance. Again, the South Korean ran free in the Fulham area, but a tiger jump from Areola prevented the attacker’s header from reaching the net.

The next header, in the 25th minute, however, was almost unstoppable. A precise post from Reguilón was introduced, through the root of the post, by Harry Kane. Englishman’s eleventh goal in the Premier League this season.

– It’s cannonball soccer, commented TV 2 soccer expert Nils Johan Semb, adding:

– It’s not about putting it on Areola. He likes to put it as far from the corner as possible.

The England captain could have scored his twelfth shortly after, but a forehead shot went over the goal.

Fulham also got another chance before the break when Ruben Loftus-Cheek attempted a scissor kick. The acrobatic attempt came right off the post. 1-0 at halftime after dominating a home team matchday.

Lookman and equalizer show

The home team took the initiative after the break. Moussa Sissoko dribbled in the first minute of the inning and gracefully entered the area at the expense of Fulham plug Tosin Adarabioyo. Unfortunately for Spurs fans, the Frenchman was unable to cap the preparation with a goal.

The game stabilized more and more and, with twenty minutes remaining, Fulham were the leading team and got several half chances.

-Tottenham live dangerously now, said Semb.

Heung-min Son had a chance to punch mid-inning, but he hit the post with only Areola.

– In the first round, Areola made some impossible saves. With that counterattack we should have decided the match, but we didn’t, says Mourinho after the match.

The boom would cost the Spurs dearly. Fulham substitute Lookman dribbled down the left and hit the box in the 73rd minute. In the Spurs area, opposite edge Ivan Cavaleiro stepped forward and headed in the tie.

– A wonderful score, described the soccer expert from TV 2.

Towards the end of the match, both teams had a chance to run away with all the points. Reguilón and Tottenham put a ball into the net in the ordinary last minute of the match, but Heung-min Son was correctly deflected offside in front. Thus, the match ended 1-1.

– You need quality for us to stay in the Premier League, and we show it today, says Fulham coach Parker.

– The second half was disappointing and it has been like that for us this season so far, so we have to try to turn it around quickly, sums up Harry Kane.

Tottenham will face Sheffield United in the next league game, while Fulham will be visited by Chelsea at Craven Cottage.
