Mørk believes Norway has gained a new dimension ahead of the European Championship sprint

Veronica Kristiansen (30), often referred to simply as “Vikki”, delivered her best match at the European Handball Championship when she was released from the right against Croatia on Saturday.

– I felt safe again. I’ve almost only played right-back in Györ, so it may have given me extra security, says Veronica Kristiansen.

– I see as the only positive that can take both the right side and the left side. For the team, I hope it can only be a strength, says Veronica Kristiansen also.

Nora Mørk believes that Kristiansen’s great play strengthens Norway’s chances at the European Championship.

– It’s a slightly new dimension that gives more strings to play with. Vikki has played a lot as a right-back in Györ and he does it well. It makes us even more dangerous. It’s a good constellation too, and if it’s a lengthy switch to a quick team, it can definitely be worth it, Mørk tells TV 2.

– What if it becomes so good that it takes out the top scorer in the EC?

– As long as we win games, the same thing happens to me, but of course I want to contribute. I feel like I do. There will be games where a left-handed right-back is needed, so it will probably go well, he replies.

Mørk is supported by the captain of the national team.

– I think it’s great for us. So we have more to play for. Vikki is incredibly good as a right back, while Henny can take on various roles as well. I’m glad I saw him against Croatia, says Stine Bredal Oftedal on TV 2.

– Security for Hergeirsson

TV 2 handball expert Bent Svele believes that the 11-goal win against Croatia was proof of the opportunities they have with useful players.

The handball girls were surprised:

– We couldn’t go out naked

– Now they were able to test it and get the answers they wanted. It is a guarantee for Hergeirsson. Modern wingers should be able to play in various positions. I know you’re worried about that. It is important in handball that it is and will come. You have to master several things, he thinks.

Svele believes that the good experience against Croatia means that Kristiansen also brings a better left-back feeling.

Stine Bredal Oftedal thinks the same.

– Just having that feeling on the right back can also build self-confidence in general, so it’s ideal, says the captain of the national team.

– I think it was important that he got such a good game. The Croatia match showed the opportunities they have in the team with Kristiansen as a right back, while Reistad can go in all positions in the back of the field. Those who pull the load on the way to the semifinals can also play in various positions, says Bent Svele.

Critics acclaim at the European Championship:

– A mockery of those who do sports

– Sense in a safe environment.

National team manager Thorir Hergeirsson always had in mind to play with Kristiansen in the position he is most used to in the club team.

– It was part of the plan when we joined the team. Both Henny (Ella Reistad) and Vikki can work out position as right-backs against given opponents and in certain contexts, Hergeirsson says.

Henny Ella Reistad is ready to contribute where needed.

– The last two years it is almost only the position of midfielder that I have played, so it is the one that I have practiced the most, but as a midfielder you also end up in the two other full-back roles. I like to play all three, so it’ll probably be good anyway, says Henny Ella Reistad.

The Norwegian handball girls play the last match of the main round against Hungary on Tuesday night. Norway, which is the EC’s biggest favorite, is already listed as the group winner for Friday’s semi-final in Herning.
