(Odd – Molde 1-4) When Molde can put Magnus Wolff Eikrem, Ohi Omouijuanfo and Mathis Bolly looking to score, there are tendencies towards funky teams.

Published:

Molde was behind after Mushaga Bakenga’s goal early in the first half, and he had an approved substitute bench with him for Skien.

Eikrem, “Ohi” and Bolly got into a quadruple trade midway through the second half and nothing else was needed to turn the game around. The former hadn’t been on the field for many minutes before taking advantage of a weak clearance from Markus Kaasa to control the wide side in the tie.

Even when he shoots, it’s like he’s making a sensitive pass, this time inside the root of the post.

Then the pass flew into the air towards “Ohi”, and the right-handed forward threw the ball gracefully past Sondre Rossbach with his forehead. Soon after, Odd struggled to clear a corner kick, the ball landed on Bolly and he appeared and hit Molde’s third substitute marker.

“We got a new deal when we replaced four players, and it worked perfectly today,” Bolly tells Eurosport.

Three and a half minutes into extra time they were awarded a penalty when Leke James overtook a running Rossbach. Ohi put the 4-1 in the middle of the goal, Molde’s fourth substitute marker.

– In the second half, there has been a class difference between the teams, Asbjørn Myhre commented on Eurosport.

For a long time, however, it seemed Odd would keep the dream of a European Cup alive next season. They depended on victory and the score came early. Elba Rashani’s first post attempt was masterfully blocked, but on the second attempt it was.

At the back post, Bakenga showed tremendous resistance, literally breaking Birk Risa who was returning in the head duel. The former Rosenborg player’s fifth goal in three games seemed to be the decisive blow for a long time.

At the beginning of the second round, the injured forward was replaced by a “feel” in the front of the thigh. Television footage showed him grimacing as he walked up the stairs to the Skagerak Arena’s changing rooms.

Molde created several huge chances after Odd’s goal, but neither Sheriff Sinyan, Ola Brynhildsen nor Leke James managed to outwit Sondre Rossbach in Odd’s cage.

Should the Langøytangen lighthouse on the outskirts of Langesund need a replacement, Robin Simovic could be a suitable replacement. The right-handed forward participated in the duels and was essential for Odd to keep the ball under heavy pressure from Molde.

In the end it helped little. Silver winner Molde stopped Odd’s dream at the European Cup in Skien, and so Vålerenga can prepare for matches on the continent next season.
