With a 3-1 win over Dundalk, Molde is one step closer to qualifying for the knockout rounds of the Europa League.
MOLD – DUNDALK 3-1:
After goals from Magnus Wolff Eikrem, Ohi Omoijuanfo and Martin Ellingsen, the Moldans got an easy job against a docile Dundalk side at Aker Stadium.
All the home goals came after post situations, where the Molde players time and time again had to go muttering alone within the Irish field and heading into goals.
Dundalk had a cut in overtime when Jordan Flores hit a long shot.

Gigantsjanse for Sheriff Sinyan
At 16 minutes into the second half, Molde’s stopper, Sheriff Sinyan, also had a great opportunity after a corner kick. The ball ended up on the 24-year-old’s legs, but incredibly, the stopper failed to get the ball into the goal.
It came just a week after the same man squandered a great opportunity in the Europa League clash against Arsenal.

Approaching the breakthrough
After the break, the home team kept pushing to score and, in the 67th minute, came the third goal of the night. Wolff Eikrem delivered a sharp corner to Ellingsen’s head, who rose to the top and increased the lead to 3-0.
In overtime, Dundalk scored a consolation goal when Flores took a long, hard shot out of the penalty area.
With a draw or win against Rapid Wien in Austria in the last match, Molde secures promotion from the group stage in the Europa League. The runners-up in the Elite Series table will also get by with a one-goal loss, except for 0-1, as Rapid has scored several goals so far in the group stage.
