Molde went from 0-2 to 3-2 in no time, but a penalty to the back gives the Hungarians the best starting point before the decisive second leg.

Molde had a nightmare in the first of two playoff games against the Hungarian team on Wednesday night when Franck Boli put the hosts ahead.
The pain worsened when the guests doubled their lead for a time in the second half, but then Molde began a trade operation. Goals from Leke James, Magnus Wolff Eikrem and Martin Ellingsen suddenly put Molde in the driver’s seat.
In the end, however, Ferencvaros received a controversial penalty and made it 3-3.

Even though the Hungarians now have three away goals in the bag ahead of the second leg, what Molde showed in the second half was enough to give there still hope of progress.
– They look shaken in the second half, Viasport expert Lars Tjærnås said of the away team after what took place in the second half at Aker Stadium.
The winner proceeds to the group stage of the Champions League.

Molde’s coach Erling Moe knew his men should have won the match.

Nightmare start
Only six minutes were played when the Hungarian guests took the lead. Endre Botka kicked the ball over the right edge where there was plenty of room after Fredrik Haugen failed to keep up. Hitting in and in front of the goal, Franck Boli was in place and headed towards the main goal.

The home team got better and better in the first-half game, but failed to create the big chances against the Hungarians before the break.
Fought back
After the break, there would be more drama at Aker Stadium. After 52 minutes, the visitors took the lead 0 – 2 when Myrto Uzuni finished off an attack down the left with a spectacular scissor shot.
Botka reached Molde’s 16-meter corner and hit the first post. Uzuni landed a perfect header and Andreas Linde had to watch the ball bounce off the net.
Shortly after, Molde replied. Magnus Wolff Eikrem hit a corner kick and on the field Leke James was stronger when he headed the ball through the ground and entered the goal to reduce.
The hosts continued the positive trend and in the 65th minute came the tie. Eirik Hestad found Wolff Eikrem and the midfielder finished off cash in the corner.
Turn operation
Molde came close to scoring another goal in the 73rd minute as the scoreboard showed Leke James entering from the left from the left. The VAR analyzed the situation and concluded that only corner kicks should be awarded.

The goal should still come when Fredrik Aursnes hit the ball and Martin Ellingsen put his forehead on the ball. Thus, the hosts had gone from 0-2 to 3-2.
The joy, however, was short-lived. In the end, the guests were punished for a hand on Ola Brynhildsen. Ihor Kharatin safely converted it into a goal.
Thus, the match ended 3-3. The return will be played on September 29.
