– It is very likely that we will have more cases of infection today, and this is likely to be a widespread outbreak, says municipal chief physician Cato Innerdal in a press release.

The night before Friday, the municipality was notified of eleven new cases. They are added to the ten cases that were reported on Thursday night. Two cases were reported Thursday.

– The hospital laboratory analyzes our samples continuously, so we hope to have a better vision of the situation already tonight, informs the municipal chief.

The municipality’s crisis management will meet at eight o’clock on Friday night.

The municipality claims that one of those infected is employed at the Kirkebakken care center. Three patients and four employees have had close contact with the person in question and are now in quarantine. The spotlight is now closed to visitors for the time being. Nor will new patients now be admitted.

Several kindergartens and schools in the city have been infected among students or staff. The entire Øvre Bergmo kindergarten and an apartment in the St. Sunniva kindergarten will be closed for ten days, while the Cecilienfryd kindergarten and Romsdal upper secondary school will be closed on Friday. At both Langmyra School and the Molde Adult Education Center, one class is under quarantine.

So far, more than 300 have been quarantined. Everyone should get tested as soon as possible, says the municipality.
