Minister will not stop working on the road to the wind farm – NRK Vestland

On June 19, the Storting decided that the government should consider all licenses granted to wind turbines that have yet to be built. The goal is to stop projects that have been licensed in violation of the law.

For those opposed to wind power, the decision has raised hope that more projects could be halted, including the Okla wind farm in Stadlandet.

Therefore, the Storting representative, Lars Haltbrekken (SV), demanded a response from the Minister of Oil and Energy, Tina Bru (H), about Okla Vindkraft.

– It is unsustainable that irreversible interventions are carried out before the government has reviewed the case again, as the Storting decided before the summer, he said.

– There is no basis to stop

You have now received a reply, writes Fjordabladet.

In writing, Tina Bru responds that she does not have the legal authority to stop the work.

– The right to stop the implementation of licensing decisions is limited and requires a clear legal basis. To this day, I do not see that there is a basis to stop this case, writes the Minister of Oil and Energy.

– Seriously

Haltbrekken is not satisfied with the answer:

– The developer takes a huge responsibility and takes a great risk if there is now an invasion of nature in Stadlandet that cannot be eliminated. What if the government discovers that the license is invalid and then withdraws it? So the developer has done great harm to nature without actually being allowed to do so.

The June 19 decision is also part of the background of more than 200 people who traveled to Borgundvåg last week to demonstrate.

Last Tuesday, activist Hans Christian Hansen tried to stop construction work by sitting in front of bulldozers.

Falck Renewables director Scott Gilbert has previously said that they are fully licensed to begin the work. NVE has also confirmed that they have approved the advance plan.

– There are no games for the gallery.

Haltbrekken says the Storting’s decision is binding and denies that it is part of a political game.

– There is no game for the gallery. It was a very important decision to verify the legality of the permission granted. We hope the developer will stop the construction work, unless they do not interfere with nature that cannot be removed, responds Haltbrekken.

The SV politician asks the government for a quick and thorough handling of the licenses that have been granted.

– Then they have to start with the most urgent licenses. And this is one of them.

He expects the government to draw up a progress plan regarding the presentation of a new state budget proposal in October.
