In the last few years before the death of Arizona Senator John McCain, there was a cold relationship between him and Donald Trump.
It has been more than two years since McCain died after losing the battle with cancer, but that does not prevent the outgoing president from referring to him in negative words.
Now McCain’s daughter fights back.
– Look McCain
It was in connection with an article on the far-right website Breitbart, dealing with the Russia investigation, that Trump made the comments about McCain.
The rich “escape” from New York
The Huffington Post was the first to mention the case.
The article claims that the Obama administration’s investigation into then-presidential candidate Trump’s cooperation with Russia began earlier than officially agreed.
McCain is also cited as the one who allegedly provided information to journalist Carl Bernstein, the same man who was involved in exposing the Watergate scandal in 1970. This information had implications for the decision to launch a formal investigation into Trump.
Trump shares the article on Twitter. Here he also writes disparagingly about McCain.
– Look at the worst in his class, McCain. One of the most overrated people in DC
– obsessed
The president’s repeated attacks on McCain have not gone unnoticed by his family before, nor now.
Don’t let your husband fight back
– Two years after his death, you are still obsessed with my father. It bothers you that no one will ever love you or remember how they loved him and will remember him. He served his country with honor, has dishonored the presidency, writes his daughter Megan McCain on Twitter, before adding:
– You couldn’t even win Arizona …
Arizona’s Azcentral newspaper has also written a separate comment on Trump’s recent move, in which they joke that McCain has had a part-time house on Trump’s head after his death.
Two years after his death, you are still obsessed with my dad. It kills you that no one will ever love you or remember how they loved him and will remember him. He served his country with honor, he has disgraced the office of the presidency.
You couldn’t even get it out in Arizona … https://t.co/5RBH5LwvQz

Bitter conflict
The conflict between McCain and Trump dates back to the battle for the Republican nomination in 2015.
At the time, several American politicians expressed concern about the aggressive mood and growing violence among Trump’s listeners. McCain was among them.
This led Trump to attack McCain saying he was not a war hero, as he was captured during the Vietnam War. Although Trump later dropped the accusations, McCain wanted an apology for himself, other war veterans and their families.
After the famous “Grab Them By The Pussy” recording hit the public just weeks before the election, McCain also withdrew his support for Trump.
Of course, Trump did not welcome him.
– Bigmouth John McCain asked for my support during the primaries (I gave it to him, he won), then withdrew his support for the locker room talk! Trump wrote on Twitter at the time.
At the request of McCain himself, Trump, who at the time had become president, was not present at the senator’s funeral.
On the other hand, it was Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner, who did not like their daughter Megans McCain.
