MDGs should go blue! – VG

BLUE FREEDOM: – I am convinced that if the MDGs want to solve the climate crisis in the best possible way, they must seek cooperation with the conservatives, writes Tias Ødegård-Olsen, in this article, in the VG column series «25 minors of 25 “. Photo: Private

Jonas Gahr Støre has already said no to a government collaboration with the MDGs. Maybe Erna Solberg says yes?

This is a chronicle. The chronicle expresses the attitude of the writer. You can submit articles and discussion posts to VG here.

In less than a year, there will be parliamentary elections in Norway. I will run during the election campaign for four new years of civic cooperation, but at the same time I will also invite some new ones to the club. On Monday, ODM’s central board decided to choose the side before the parliamentary elections.

Unfortunately, it became a socialist side.

Later that day, however, Labor leader Jonas Gahr Støre said the distance was still too great for a government collaboration. Perhaps the rest of the MDGs can look to the bourgeois side?

I am convinced that if the MDGs want to solve the climate crisis in the best possible way, then they must seek the cooperation of conservatives.

If the MDGs choose to support the Red Greens, they will be in political chaos. Then they must ally themselves with the comrades of chaos Senterpartiet, Arbeiderpartiet, SV and Rødt, who do not even know who will cooperate with whom.

Nor is it certain that the MDGs will gain power from the government. It’s also hard to imagine good climate policy with the ruling Center Party, which is just 0.7 percent behind an unstable Labor Party in recent TV2 opinion polls.

As it stands now, there could be a prime ministerial match between Jonas Gahr Støre and Trygve Slagsvold Vedum on the red-green side.

Perhaps Støre will win the battle for the post of prime minister, but the Center Party will be in any case, according to today’s opinion poll, very big and therefore will have great power in a possible red-green collaboration.

The red greens are against the EU and EEA. Two important agreements that give us binding European climate cooperation. The MDGs should think about this, as we know that the climate crisis is best solved through international cooperation.

Dear ODM, you say it is independent of the blocks, so look both ways.

Look to the right.

In government, the Conservatives have secured the lowest emissions in Norway since the 1990s. We are implementing the climate reversal of the time, with large amounts for, for example, carbon capture and storage.

Conservatives have made it easier and more attractive to choose renewable and environmentally friendly solutions, such as electric cars.

There is a reason why conservatives already cooperate with the MDGs in all parts of Oslo where we govern. Blue-green cooperation works!

Dear independent members of the block, look at the possibilities of participation in a civic collaboration. Because when we in the Conservative Party go to the polls to create more and include more, we will do so in a green and sustainable way.

Jonas has already said no, maybe Erna says yes?

Time is running out to change the winning team.

There is one year to go before the elections and together we must fight for a better and more climate-friendly Norway. We do this with a blue-green collaboration!
