Vagle notes that the royal family’s birthdays are usually celebrated with fires and breezes, where young and old gather for a festive team. This year, however, the celebration will be somewhat different.
– But I’m sure everyone is doing their best to pay tribute to him in any way possible, says the expert from the royal house.
– A formidable cartoonist
There is no doubt that 2020 had a difficult start for the 17-year-old and the rest of the family. This will be her first birthday without dad Ari Behn.
Princess Märtha Louise’s ex-husband passed away on Christmas Day last year.
There is no doubt that Maud Angelica inherited her father’s art. During the funeral in January, he shared a drawing of his father, an established artist and writer.
Vagle presents Maud Angelica’s strong speech at the January Promise and says that father and daughter initially had plans to work on a book project.
– The birthday girl made a strong, beautiful, and very important speech at her father’s funeral in January, where she asked people with psychological difficulties to seek help. A speech that left an indelible impression on us! Vagle says, and continues:
– Maud and Ari actually had book plans together. I had to write and she had to draw. She is a formidable cartoonist, and Ari repeatedly expressed that he was impressed with her abilities.
Filed for transparency
As mentioned, the 17-year-old’s speech made a strong impression on her father’s occupation and, in hindsight, she was praised for the words she shared about her father and his mental health.
– I would say to all who have been through this: there is always a way out. It doesn’t feel like that though. There are people out there who can help. You can get help. I ask you with all my heart, soul and body: ask for help. It is never a shame. It is a strength, not a weakness. You can also go to a professional, who is there to help, was one of Maud Angelica’s comments in the speech at the Oslo Cathedral.
The speech led the 17-year-old to receive the Emergency Psychiatry Award in early February for his openness to mental disorders and suicide.
The jury wrote in its justification that Maud Angelica has made an exceptional contribution to preventing suicide, and that what she said “hit with great force.”
“In your pain, you choose to share. His strong words hit us all with great force. You open your heart and focus your eyes on others too. You put words to pain and convey hope. There is great distress in using the church room, the media, and the public part in the most private way to talk about mental disorders and how important it is to ask for help, “the jury stated.
