At 10:48, the police report that, in close collaboration with the air ambulance, they have rescued the man from the swamp.

– There was a message from a man who was trapped in a swamp in Golsfjellet. He had swamp and water for his entire life, was on the verge of sinking and was quite desperate, police operations manager Trond Egil Groth tells NRK.

According to the police, the person in question is in his 30s and is from western Norway. Now he is being treated by health personnel on the spot.

– Looks like he’s safe. He was in the swamp for about half an hour and was very cold, Groth says.

Dramatically

Police reported the accident shortly after 10. It was the man himself who called and reported that he was stuck.

– In collaboration with the main rescue center, we made a full emergency call, says Groth.

– How was he rescued?

– It was a collaboration between the air ambulance and the local police patrol that parked the car and entered the scene on foot.

The man was alone, according to police.

Golsfjellet rescue operation

The swamp in which the man was trapped is located next to a lake called the Great Grass. You can see the helicopter in the picture.
