At 12:42 on Thursday evening, police were notified that a man and a woman were fighting in the center of Sarpsborg.

The man had a large dog with him that attacked both of them. The woman escaped uninjured, but the man received what the ambulance described as serious injuries, says East Police District Operations Manager Kjetil Ringseth.

Bitten hard before it got away

The dog is large, dark, muscular and wears a black harness.

The dog was very aggressive.

– When we arrived at the scene, the dog was trapped in the man’s arm and we had to use an electroshock weapon to free the dog. He got off the roof and ran off, Ringseth tells TV 2.

The police want advice if someone sees the dog.

“We cannot rule out that the dog could be aggressive towards others,” Ringseth said Thursday night.

An on-site patrol is investigating the case.

– A case is being created and is being investigated, but the most important thing now is to find the dog, says Ringseth.

Loose

Operations manager Atle Vestorp reports at 08:20 on Thursday morning that the dog is still at large and was last seen at 7 o’clock in the direction of the Sarpsborg stadium.

– We have been several patrols that have circulated through the center of Sarpsborg, and the outskirts of the center, but we have not found anything yet, he says.

On Twitter, the police write that they have received an assessment related to the dog that the dog is not dangerous to others, and that the dog is considered to have assaulted those involved due to the fight that broke out.
