Man seriously injured after knife drama on open street in Oslo – VG

Police are now searching for a perpetrator who escaped the scene and the case is being investigated as an attempted murder.

Operations manager Gjermund Stokkli tells VG that the knife victim was seriously injured and was immediately taken to hospital.

– It is too early to say what is the course of events, but now we are investigating with more patrols in the place, says Stokkli.

The operations manager tells Avisa Oslo that the victim is a 30-year-old man. He is hospitalized in Ullevål Hospital and has not yet been questioned by the police due to his condition.

When VG was on the scene, task leader Tomm Berger said police still did not know the identity of the alleged perpetrator.

– We are investigating this and we are also actively looking for it with many patrols. The person we are looking for has dark skin and is around 170-175cm tall, Berger tells VG.

The police then came out On twitter with a more detailed signal about the aggressor.

– We continue to search for the perpetrator who was wearing a red parka, black Adidas pants with white stripes and white shoes. The injured person is still seriously injured. He has been stabbed multiple times, the police write.

According to the task leader, the stabbing took place near the intersection between Storgata and the Bernt Ankers gate.

– There must have been a conflict between two people, and one person was in possession of a knife. We are also looking for the knife he allegedly used, says the task leader.

Detective Anders Bille Johnsrud claims the case is being investigated as an attempted murder, and that they are still looking for the perpetrator and the weapons at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Aysha Medina Abid had just opened the Fighter Sport store across the street from the scene when she first saw a police car driving down the street. Then he discovered the victim.

– He was lying on the ground and clutching his stomach, says Abid.

She says there were five or six people around the man and it appeared that the police rushed to the scene after the stabbing.

– It’s a bit scary that this happens during the day, he says.
