The man was found shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday after rescue teams picked up GPS signals. He was reported missing at 7.30pm on Saturday night and was not equipped to spend the night outdoors.

– You tell yourself that you found an abandoned tent that you entered and managed to keep warm, reports to Operations Manager Bård Einar Hoft in Innlandet Police District to NTB.

The man is now transported to Spiterstulen where he is treated by health personnel.

I lost sight of the tour group

On Saturday he left the tour group he went with in Jotunheimen. The weather in the area was miserable, with high winds, freezing temperatures and snow showers.

– Three people have been walking all day, one of them has walked ahead of the others towards Spiterstulen. The other two have lost sight of him and he was not there when they reached Spiterstulen. Dyre Antonsen, operations manager in the Innlandet police district told NTB Saturday night.
