– I can confirm that a man in his 40s has been found dead at an address in Kristiansand. The circumstances and observations that the reporter and the police have made at the scene make us consider the death suspicious, duty lawyer Henrik Bjugan Hegdahl in the Agder police district tells NTB.

It was Fædrelandsvennen who first reported the death. According to the newspaper, the person was found in Suldalen. The police were notified of the discovery of the deceased at 1:17 p.m. on Saturday.

The man was found dead in his apartment by a neighbor.

No one has been arrested so far in the case.

Hegdahl says family members have been notified.

– We are now doing technical and tactical investigations on site. In addition, we interview people who may have information about the case.

In a press release, the Agder police district claims that they have also requested tactical and technical assistance from Kripos.

Hegdahl will not say whether police know the man who was found dead before.

– We are now conducting investigations to discover and map the dead person. I do not want to go into detail about our knowledge of the person in question, says the lawyer for the police.

Police did not report the suspicious death until more than three hours after the man was found.

– We have waited to come out with this so that we can work in peace on the site, says operations manager Vidar Arnesen to Fædrelandsvennen.
