The man in his 40s who was reported missing on Tuesday was found dead in Tromsdalstinden. Report to the police on Wednesday afternoon.
“In connection with the search operation in Tromsdalstinden, shortly before 12.30 a dead person was found at an altitude of approximately 850 meters east of the summit. He is not formally identified, but we are pretty sure he is the missing person. Family members have been notified, ”the police reported Wednesday afternoon.
The missing hiker was found after an extensive search operation. The deceased, a foreign-born Tromsø man, was last known on Sunday when he left on a trip to Tromsdalstinden.
The police have coordinated the search operation, which has now ended. Both the Red Cross and the Norwegian People’s Aid have assisted in the search for the deceased.
As early as Wednesday, the police changed the status of the search operation from a search for the missing to a search for the suspected dead.
