On Sunday, police launched a major search operation after a man in his 20s failed to return home after a party in Grimstad on Sunday night.
– Police were notified of the incident at 6:40 p.m. Sunday night. Then there were some in her close circle of friends who reported her missing, Agder police district operations manager Miriam Stausland tells Dagbladet.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m., the police report that a dead person has been found in the search area. Family members have been notified, police report on Twitter.
– The deceased has not yet been identified, but no one else has been reported missing in the area, so we assume that it is the man in his 20s who has been found, says Stausland.
The man was found by the police dog patrol. Forensic scientists conduct routine investigations at the site Sunday night, according to Agderposten.
The police have launched an investigation into the case to trace the course of events and the cause of death.
The party in question took place in a forested area north of Reddal on Saturday night.
– The group has been on the ground, some distance from the road and buildings. It is in this area that we have applied ourselves with great resources, says the operations manager.
It is not yet known what type of party it is or how many people were present.
There is rough terrain in the area, which has made the search process difficult. Several police patrols, police dogs, helicopters and volunteers contributed to the search for the man.
