On Tuesday morning, Ekstra Bladet reports that convicted murderer Peter Madsen has attempted to escape from prison in Albertslund. Avisa has posted a picture of Madsen apparently sitting next to a hedge.
Madsen will be located about 400-500 meters from Herstedvæster Prison, where he is serving a life sentence. Madsen has been convicted of the brutal murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall, who was invited to Madsen’s submarine to report on him.

According to Ekstra Bladet, a major police operation is underway in connection with the escape attempt. Danish BT reports that Madsen also reportedly threatened to carry a bomb. Ekstra Bladet describes Madsen wearing a belt-like object around his stomach.
The police must be present with a bomb squad and special forces. A witness informs BT that the police also have snipers present, who are allegedly targeting Madsen.
Ekstra Bladet also reports that Madsen has previously been isolated due to suspected escape plans.
Police do not want to confirm that Madsen is behind the escape attempt. Madsen’s attorney, Betina Hald Engmark, did not know about the case when BT contacted her.
