LØRENSKOG (VG) Shortly before the police believed that Anne-Elisabeth Hagen was murdered in her own home, an unknown car was driving down a walkway to the home. Now the police ask the driver to get in touch.

The unidentified car has long been part of the police puzzle and was deemed interesting until the estimated time of the crime.

Almost two years after the day of the disappearance, the police still do not know what type of car they are looking for, who was driving or if there were one or more passengers on the trip.

– It is an interesting car, and we want to contact the driver of the same, the passengers and witnesses who may have seen it, says police inspector Agnes Beate Hemiø in the eastern police district to VG.

On Wednesday afternoon, police came out with video and a photo of what they believe to be the mysterious car:

The reason the police are interested is that the car headed towards Anne-Elisabeth and Tom Hagen’s single-family home in Lørenskog before 09:00 a.m. on the day of the disappearance, October 31, 2018.

According to the police preliminary schedule, Anne-Elisabeth Hagen was likely alive and staying at the home when the cars headed toward the property.

Among other things, she is said to have been active with her phone after this time, both in a text message to a family member and in a conversation with her son, the so-called conversation 9.14, which police believe is the last. life signal.

Police captured early video from surveillance cameras in the area around Sloraveien 4. One of these videos showed light from a suspicious vehicle, but the video quality was so poor that investigators spent time establishing that it was actually a car moving down the walkway. .

The section in question is about 150 meters long, cobbled, and begins at a popular duck pond next to Langvannet.

Police Inspector Agnes Beate Hemiø says it has been a key objective for the police to map all movements near the crime scene on the morning of October 31, 2018, and that the police have obtained large amounts of material. of video surveillance.

– When entering from Hjelpemiddelsentralen, there appear to be movements on the walkway under Sloraveien 4 at 07.56 and 08.56. However, the images are of such quality that it is difficult to draw definitive conclusions about what the movements show. We are aware that the images are of very poor quality, so we have not come out with them before, he says.

Police describe the observations on the cameras as follows:

  • 07:56:01 – 07:56:19: You see the red light that does not move on the catwalk.
  • 07:56:30 – 07:56:23: White / bright light moving minimally towards the ducks’ feeding site. Police believe this is a vehicle.
  • 08:56:49 – 08:57:09: Bright / white light moves from the area to the duck feeding site towards Sloraveien 4. Police assume it is a vehicle.

– The case has high priority

In ten days, it will be exactly two years since Anne-Elisabeth Hagen disappeared from her home in Lørenskog. Police believe she was killed and that her husband Tom Hagen has a role in the murder case.

In late April of this year, he was arrested and charged with murder or complicity in murder.

Tom Hagen denies his criminal guilt and claims that he has nothing to do with his wife’s disappearance.

– The case has high priority. There are between 30 and 40 people working on the case. Our goal remains the same, namely to find Anne-Elisabeth Hagen. Our main hypothesis remains that we are facing murder, says the police inspector.

In the future, the police will continue to review the seizures in the case, as well as process and analyze the material.

– It is difficult to give a time perspective for when we have finished the investigation. It is a very demanding and complicated case, says Hemiø.

We have traveled the route that the stranger went looking for more answers. VG crime expert Øystein Milli discovers several things along the way that make him wonder – watch the video here:

Huge material

In the quest to find Anne-Elisabeth Hagen, the police have mapped 122 locations in both Norway and other countries. According to the police, they have investigated several of these places in various ways.

Police say they have conducted around 600 interrogations, obtained approximately 6,000 hours of video from, among other things, surveillance cameras, and seized more than 2,300.

– Can you say something about the relevant findings after Tom Hagen’s arrest?

– His condition is the same beyond this, I will not say anything about the evidence, replies the police inspector.

Police have previously made it clear that the nearly two-year-old criminal case is fully possible to solve.

– Do you stick to these statements?

– Yes, it is possible to solve the case, answers Hemiø.

– Our goal is to find Anne-Elisabeth Hagen and hold those responsible for her disappearance accountable. That is the main objective and if we have achieved it, we will have reached the objective. We believe this is possible.

Hunting one or more unknown perpetrators?

– I can’t answer that, Hemiø answers.
