Löfven: Sweden will not hesitate in crown measures

– Right now, things are also bad in Sweden. There are too many who don’t follow the rules. If this does not improve, we must introduce stricter measures, says Stefan Löfven at a press conference ahead of the EU summit in Brussels.

– We’re not done with this. Everyone must step up, take responsibility and follow the rules and recommendations that exist, says the Prime Minister.

The crisis of the crown remains high on the agenda when the leaders of the EU countries meet for a summit. At the same time, the Brexit process is intensifying even more, but so far there is no agreement with the British and therefore few concrete leaders can discuss what the main topic should be at the meeting.

There will also be discussions on a new climate target, but it won’t be adopted until December. Löfven is clear about what he wants the result to be at that moment.

– Together with several like-minded people, we have taken the initiative for EU countries to approve the commission’s proposal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55 percent by 2030, says the Swedish prime minister and puts the pressure clearly on the word “at least”.
