There have been 57 new infections in Bergen in the last 24 hours. – Today’s infection rates are the highest that we have an overnight report. I am very concerned about the future development in Bergen.

Councilman Roger Valhammer said this at a press conference on Friday.

In all, 1,816 corona infections have been recorded since February 28 in Bergen.

Several of the new measures are linked to private parties and visits. There are also some cases of unknown transmission route.

Therefore, it is announced that there will be a local tightening of accumulations in private homes that is reduced to a maximum of ten people.

– With the introduction of local regulations, we will also reduce the number of people meeting privately to 10. There will be a ban. They will be considered a strong recommendation starting today, says the city council leader.

– We are concerned that there is still a lot of party among young people, says Health Councilor Beate Husa.

From parties to discos

– We see that people who have been to private parties have moved to discos, he continues.

She encourages people to reprimand those who break the infection control rule.

– There will be a greater control of bars this weekend and, among other things, they will follow up on the clarification of the subway rule, he says.

Visits to institutions such as nursing homes will also be intensified.

– Family members or other people who are going to visit, who have been traveling or have stayed in countries outside of Norway in the last ten days, will not be able to visit you until ten days after returning home. So you should refrain from visiting if you have cold symptoms, Husa says.

– Should be sharpened

Medical Director Trond Egil Hansen is also strict with the townspeople:

– Those who deliberately and openly break these general infection control rules, I think they should be sharp, he says.

This is happening at the same time that Prime Minister Erna Solberg voiced her concern and announced national measures next week.

– I’m worried, she says.

– Although Norway has relatively low infection rates, we record that the number of hospital admissions and the number of infected has recently increased, he continues.
