The 22-year-old’s defender, lawyer Øystein Storrvik, added that Lindén acknowledges the facts, but not the criminal fault.
The trial began on Monday after the murder of Majorstua two years ago.
– A brutal murder and a random victim.
This is how prosecutor and prosecutor Trude Antonsen described the murder in her introductory speech on Monday.
Makaveli Lindén is accused, among other things, of having killed Heikki Bjørklund Paltto inside the Paltto apartment and three comrades rented at Majorstua in Oslo.
Before the murder, Lindén robbed a man in a parking lot near the apartment.
Prosecutor: Be Psychotic
According to the indictment, Paltto was stabbed 45 times in the head, neck and upper body. As a result, he died of hemorrhage and shortness of breath.
Experts have established that the Swede, under strong doubts, is criminally sane.
Despite the fact that forensic psychiatrists have concluded that Lindén was sane when she killed Paltto, the prosecutor will likely request mental health care for Lindén.
– We believe that he has ended up in a psychotic state and is therefore not sane. Based on the evidence, it is not sufficiently possible to prove sanity, says prosecutor Antonsen.
However, Antonsen will not rule out that a detention claim could be filed for the 22-year-old from Uppsala.
– You fully admit what you are charged with, but not criminal guilt, Lindén’s defense attorney, attorney Øystein Storrvik told NRK before the trial began.
It will be up to the Oslo District Court to decide whether Lindén will be sentenced to compulsory mental health care or to prison.
Murder charge in Belgium
Majorstua’s murder triggered a large-scale hunt for the 22-year-old Swede. Eight days after the murder, he was arrested in Dijon, France.
Between the murder in Norway and the arrest in Dijon, he is also said to have killed Johanna Jostameling, 58, in Mechelen, Belgium. According to Belgian media, the murder occurred on October 21, two days before Lindén’s arrest.
He is now charged with the murder in Belgium, says prosecutor Antonsen.
– They’re looking for him in Belgium. They know it’s here. They will issue an arrest warrant, but they will wait until we have processed our case.
Lindén is familiar with the accusation.
– He’s been accused for quite some time, says Storrvik.
He has been questioned by the Belgian authorities, but did not want to say anything about the facts of the case in Belgium.
Can be shipped to Sweden
Five days have been set aside for the case to be heard in the Oslo District Court.
Once a final judgment is rendered, Lindén can request that the judgment be enforced in Sweden, says prosecutor Antonsen.
Makaveli Lindén, formerly known as Christian Bo Lindén, was sentenced in 2017 to his first prison term. It happened after a series of robberies, robberies and juvenile punishments.
He was first convicted when he was 15 years old.
