Renowned Broadway actor Nick Cordero, 41, has to have his right leg amputated after complications from a coronavirus infection.

It’s Amanda Koots, the wife of the Tony Award-nominated actress, who reports on Instagram that Nick Cordero must amputate his leg.

Cordero entered the intensive care unit at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on March 31 and has been unconscious, hooked up to a respirator after receiving covid-19.

Cordero had already taken anticoagulant medications to prevent blood clots from forming in the bone, but doctors had to stop the treatment because it caused internal bleeding while taking covid-19.

When the anticoagulant treatment stopped, Cordero had a blood clot in his right leg.

– The right leg will be amputated today, Koots writes Saturday.

Cordero specializes in playing hard and is best known for Broadway theater scenes. He had a role in the Netflix series “Lilyhammer” in 2014, the same year he was nominated for a Tony Award for participating in Woody Allen’s “Bullets Over Broadway”.
