GJERDRUM (Dagbladet): In the early hours of Wednesday, there was a large landslide in the south of the center of Ask in the municipality of Gjerdrum in Viken.

Currently, the police have a summary of 14 affected addresses. In several of the directions there are several housing units. It is a priority to identify who is registered at the addresses and then contact them to get an overview of the missing persons.

– Despite the fact that the police do not have any reports that someone is missing, we assume there are people missing in the landslide area, the police write.

A total of ten people were injured after the landslide.

One person is seriously injured and has been taken to Ullevål Hospital for treatment. Four people have suffered moderate injuries and have been transferred to Ahus, while the rest have suffered minor injuries and are being treated in the emergency room.

For the moment, the police have not been able to fully penetrate the area for security reasons, and task force leader Roger Pettersen cannot rule out missing persons.

– There is great danger in that area and it is made up of fast clay. We are still working to get people out of the evacuation zone and we don’t know when we can get into the most serious landslide area, Pettersen says.

Police work on the basis that there may still be people trapped within the area of the landslide.

– We are also working to ensure that we can eventually receive reports of missing persons. That is, people who have not been counted. That is the challenge. If these people are within the red area.

– We have a hypothesis that it is real, he says.

The innermost area is monitored by helicopters and drones.
