The municipality called a press conference on Sunday afternoon to report that a student from the Langnes school has been infected with covid-19. The boy was in school while he was “contagious.”
– The child has been infected after close contact with a parent who previously tested positive, says the chief of infection control in the municipality, Trond Brattland.
The student has been contagious since Wednesday and then was at school. On Thursday and Friday, the child was in quarantine, after the person had a cough and fever.

The student had no symptoms while at school, but it was what Brattland categorizes as contagious.
Infection tracking work has started. The municipality has drawn up a contingency plan for the infection in the school, which they are now following.
– We have received an overview of students in the affected cohort, but we are working to get an overview of others who may be affected, says Brattland.
Between 50 and 70 students at the school are considered close contacts with the infected student, but the municipality does not have definitive lists at this time. All students who are considered close contact must be quarantined.

The head of the school’s section, Geir Olsen, says that the Langnes school is closed on Mondays and that teaching will take place digitally.
– The school is now working to get information to all parents and employees, and tomorrow it will be closed to clean the school, says section leader Geir Olsen.
