Several houses have been destroyed after a powerful landslide in Gjerdrum.
GJERDRUM (Nettavisen): – We tried to get out, but we didn’t need to because the whole house collapsed. There was no roof left, there was nothing. So we sat there.
A woman who lived in one of the houses in the middle of the landslide in Gjerdrum tells Nettavisen. She does not want to present herself with a name and a picture, but is happy to share her own experiences.
– Our house no longer exists, it was in the middle of the landslide, he says.
Rescued by helicopter
The woman was at home with her husband when the landslide occurred. The husband is now in the emergency room with a broken clavicle and needs surgery. Under the conditions, it’s okay, says the daughter, who rushed to Olavsgaard as soon as she heard about the landslide.
He does not live with his parents and found out about the landslide when a friend called to find out how it had gone.

– I didn’t understand anything, they also told me there had been a landslide. I immediately tried calling Mom and Dad, but they didn’t answer. So I tried to follow the news as well as possible, and saw that the evacuees were being sent to Olavsgaard, the woman’s daughter tells Nettavisen.
– So I got dressed, packed a suitcase and went here before I made contact with my mother. I bet I’d find her here and leave as soon as I could, she says.

Meanwhile, both the mother and father had been picked up by helicopter. The mother appreciates the help:
– It’s hard to say how long it took, so I don’t know how long we waited. It took a while, but we’re glad we did. They did a very good job with the rescue.
The dog stayed in the landslide
The man of the house is, as mentioned, in the hospital now, but he is fine according to the conditions.
– You must have a little operation, but otherwise you feel completely fine. So we have been very lucky, says the daughter.
As for the neighbors and acquaintances in the area, the family does not have a complete picture of who has been counted and who has not.
– It’s hard to say, because it’s so confusing. We have seen some neighbors wandering around here, but it’s not easy to tell. They may be here somewhere, but there are many. So we don’t know completely, but it’s good to see that most have made it, says daughter.

One they miss, however, is the family dog that was in the house.
– She was alive when they picked up mom and dad, but they couldn’t take her with them, says the daughter.
– So we hope she can run or they find her. Or that he has gotten a house and is not suffering, adds his mother.
