Linn Svahn (21) was almost caught in the race by Anamarija Lampic (25), but then the jury took second place from the Slovenian rider. Federico Pellegrino won the men’s final.
Svahn started the final sprint well and took the lead. She increased along the way, but towards the end it got exciting when Lampic took over. But Svahn had an extra team.
Right after the finale, it emerged that Lampic lost second place. The 25-year-old was ruled out to drop Nadine Fähndrich on the corner at the bottom of the last hill to the finish. From the TV footage, it’s hard to see how involved Lampic was in the downfall of local Swiss hope.
