Get several million additional doses of vaccine.
Here’s what the Minister of Health had to say about the main vaccine news in the future:
MARMORHALLEN / AKERSGATA (Nettavisen): At the press conference on Friday, Bent Høie came with news that will probably be a great joy to most of us.
– Fortunately today we have two good news about vaccines. The EU has entered into an agreement with Pfizer / Biontech to purchase 200 million doses, with the option to purchase a further 100 million doses. This deal will ensure Norway an estimated 2.24 million doses, and with an option with 1.12 billion more doses, the health minister said.
– The best thing is that we get around 840,000 doses of these extra doses, already in April, May and June, he added.
AstraZeneca is improving
The Health Minister also said that AstraZeneca, which has already received some criticism, will resume production.
– We were informed today that AstraZeneca plans to increase its deliveries by 50 percent in April, May and June. This means that Norway receives more doses. So we get about 1.6 million doses of this in the second quarter, which is significantly more than the government expected, Høie said.

– With each passing week, more and more people are vaccinated and less and less are at risk of dying. This is good news that we will take with us during the spring, added the Minister of Health.
Received criticism
Since early 2021, Norway has lagged considerably behind our Swedish and Danish friends, and the government has received criticism from various quarters.
«Norway ranks last in vaccination out of western countries, according to a summary by Nordea and Macrobond. Even countries like the Czech Republic, Spain, and Portugal are far ahead of us in the number of vaccines administered per 100,000 inhabitants. We are best in class when it comes to measures against the spread of the virus, but we are at the end of vaccinating people.

In addition, we adhere to an erroneous vaccination strategy throughout the country, in relation to prioritizing those who are most likely to die, that is, the risk groups in the most vulnerable areas. Oslo has been one of a kind during the pandemic, and in all likelihood it will be in the future as well.. ‘Gunnar Stavrum, Nettavisen editor-in-chief, wrote in late January.
Finished in september
In early February, FHI presented an optimistic scenario showing that the Norwegian population could have been vaccinated in September, and that as of July, everyone should have received the first dose of coronary vaccine.
