From night to Tuesday came the transition we were waiting for.

Joshua King returned to the Premier League after relegation with his Bournemouth, and just over a day later his debut was a done deal.

King, with the number eleven suit adorned on the back, was substituted in the 87th minute against Alex Iwobi, thus obtaining his first minutes as an Everton player.

Fortunately for King, it was a victory in a very exciting match to the end.

– Haunted. The reaction after Newcastle’s defeat was very good. We played very well in the second half. It was tough, and the goal was three points, head coach Carlo Ancelotti tells BT Sport before bragging about the new signing:

– It will complement the top players. You can play anywhere. Right, left, as the center point. We needed an alternative and he was a very good alternative.

Comfortable handling

Carlo Ancelotti’s men had the best start on Elland Road. After nine minutes of play, Lucas Digne leveled things for Gylfi Sigurdsson with an impressive goal down the middle. The Icelander had to stay alone and score the goal.

The home team recovered and had a good period in which it was close to putting the reduction. Leeds created several chances, both with a stunned free kick off the post and a long toe from Bamford, which wasn’t long enough.

Unfortunately for coach Marcelo Bielsa, the visiting goalkeeper somehow managed to get hold of him.

Everton went ahead, and on the eighth corner kick in favor of the guests, the ball ended in a goal. Ben Godfrey surprised Sigurdsson’s free kick when Calvert-Lewin nodded from the back post.

A comfortable 2-0 lead at halftime.

Thrill to the end

Who knows what Marcelo Bielsa said during the break, but at least he set the home team on fire in the second half.

This time it was Everton that failed in their own box. Mason Holgate held on to him and thus ended the ball with Bamford, who shoved it into Raphinha. The ball appeared to have deflected as he entered, but he is claiming it!

He wonders if Jordan Pickford will have competition in goal after what Robin Olsen held in the second half. In just a few minutes, he took not just one, but three saves in rap.

First it was Bamford who directed a shot from Klich towards the goal. The return ended with Raphinha, who in turn withdrew. Soon after, it was Jack Harrison who tried from a distance, but Olsen had closed the cage completely. Huge performance at the last chance.

Olsen’s energy sharpened the visiting team, which came close to putting up their third for the night.

– Robin Olsen did well. You know your role and you are confident. An experienced goalkeeper, says Ancelotti about the goalkeeper.

King and Everton’s next game is away against another Norwegian, Ole Gunnar Solskjær and his Manchester United. That game is played this weekend.

– We have better luck outside than at home. I hope Manchester United have scored all their goals against Southampton, concludes Ancelotti.
