King Harald: – King Harald is declared healthy.

On Friday evening, the Palace announces that King Harald (83) has been declared healthy since November 1.

As is well known, the king was hospitalized in late September due to heavy breathing. He underwent a heart valve operation in early October, ending the month with his sick leave.

This is not the first time that King Harald has carried out such an operation. The same thing happened in 2005, when he had to operate the heart valve between the heart and the main artery. At that time, he received an artificial heart valve, made from biological material.

On Sunday, he will be discharged as planned.

However, King Harald has no official assignment until Thursday, November 5, when he receives the Foreign Minister in audience. Queen Sonja and Crown Prince Haakon will also be in attendance.

Since September 25, Crown Prince Haakon has served as the Regent Crown Prince, which means he has taken care of his father’s official duties.

The king was discharged on October 12 after the successful operation.

In mid-October the book “The King Counts” was also published, in which he recounted his time as king through a series of conversations with the author Harald Stanghelle.

Among other things, he talks openly about what he thinks about the future of the monarchy and his own time on the throne. He has been the king of the country since January 17, 1991, when King Olav died.
