In the United States alone, the corona epidemic has caused 14.7 million cases of infection and more than 280,000 have lost their lives.
The virus has particularly affected the black population of the United States, where African American societies have been severely affected by the crisis.
Basketball star Karl-Anthony Towns (25) is among the hardest hit. The star, who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA, says he has lost several members of his family as a result of the pandemic.
Towns is also known for having a relationship with the scandal star Jordyn Woods (23), better known as the woman accused of destroying Khloé Kardashian (36) with Tristan Thompson (29).

Lost seven family members
It was on Friday this week that the 25-year-old revealed that he has lost up to seven people in the family, including his mother, Jaqueline Cruz-Towns, to covid-19.
– I’ve been through a lot, and it obviously started with my mother. Last night I got the phone call that I lost my uncle. It feels like I’ve gotten tougher and more humble in life, he said, according to ESPN.
– I have seen many coffins in the last seven months. I have many in my family and in my mother’s who have received COVID-19. I’m the one looking for answers to keep them healthy, he continued.

In March, the athlete shared an emotional video on Instagram in which he told his followers that his mother had ended up in a coma, and therefore he was put on a respirator. On April 13, he died at the age of 58. The basketball star’s father has also had covid-19, but has recovered.
Last month, he posted an 18-minute video on YouTube, where he recounted his last moments with his mother, as well as the pain he’s been in after her death. On Friday, he explained why he posted the video.
– I tried to prevent them from feeling the same as me or going through the same situation. I was coming from a place where I didn’t want people to feel as lonely or sad as I was. I made the video to protect others and keep people up to date, even though I knew it would require the most emotional of me.

It was in September that Jordyn and Karl-Anthony became “Instagram officials.” At the time, he posted a photo of a vacation in Mexico.
“I found you, then you found me,” he wrote on the photo.
In an interview with Extra later that month, Kylie Jenner’s former best friend explained that she and the basketball star had been friends for a long time.
– We have been friends for a long time. Of course, we could recognize each other because we both lost a parent at a young age. It was a very organic relationship as we had been best friends for a while, she said at the time.
The 23-year-old lost his father, John, to cancer in 2017.
