The social closure of Oslo has caused gyms to close, but the same is not the case with Bærum.
There, both gyms and places that serve alcohol can remain open.
The government has feared that people from Oslo will go there to train, and long lines were seen outside the satellites on Tuesday at Bekkestua in Bærum.
City Councilor Raymond Johansen (Labor Party) has seen the image of people queuing outside the gym and is reacting to it.
– It seemed very crowded and I can’t understand how they manage to keep the distance rules there, says Johansen.
And he believes that the people of Oslo should refrain from going to Bærum to train. NRK visited Sats in Bekkestua on Tuesday night. None of those in the queue said they came from Oslo.
Both Health Minister Bent Høie and the city council leader believe that municipalities around Oslo should introduce measures as strict as in the capital to control the infection.
– The Oslo area is a labor market and we are mutually dependent, says the councilor.
– Many want to train
In order to maintain a distance of two meters between the clients who train in Sats, a queuing system has been implemented with one entry and one exit.
This could be seen if you went to Sats Bekkestua on Tuesday afternoon.
– There are many who want to train, and we experience that we have limited capacity as a result of the crown, says Niklas Ursin, regional manager of Sats.
He has not realized that today there are more people from Oslo in the gym.
– There is no significant difference from how it usually is in relation to our numbers, he says.
It is not the same measure in Bærum
Despite the government’s call, the municipalities of Asker and Bærum have chosen not to introduce the same infection control measures as the capital.
The presidencies of the two municipalities adopted new crown measures on Monday afternoon.
Swimming pools, gyms and museums may still be open in the municipality. Mandatory bandages are applied indoors in all public places, including gyms.
There will also be no prohibition on serving alcohol.
The municipal chief doctor Frantz Leonard Nilsen wanted, among other things, to close the gyms.
The Norwegian Health Directorate also recommended Bærum to continue to Oslo.
He did not support the municipal director Geir B. Aga in the municipality of Bærum.
