Earlier this week, US authorities released an intelligence report accusing Russian President Vladimir Putin of trying to influence the November US presidential election.

The report concluded that Putin had approved a Russian operation aimed at undermining Biden’s candidacy.

Joe Biden won the presidential election, joining the 46th president of the United States.

However, the report has weakened relations between the United States and Russia.

“A murderer”

After the report was released, President Biden cracked down on Putin.

In an interview with ABC News, Biden was asked if he thought Putin was a murderer, to which Biden replied, “Hmm, yeah.”

In the interview, Biden also said that he and Putin spoke together prior to Biden’s installation.

– We had a long conversation, him and me. The conversation started with me saying “I know you and you know me. “If I find out that this has happened, they must be prepared,” Biden told ABC News.

Biden also said Putin would have to “pay a price” for what was revealed in the report.

– It is not a joke

Biden’s “assassination” declaration has not pleased Putin.

“It takes one to know one,” Putin said on Russian television on Thursday, according to the BBC.

Putin also invited Biden to a video conference.

“I would like to invite President Biden to continue our discussion,” Putin said, according to the channel, adding:

– It seems that it would be interesting both for us and for Americans, but also for many other countries.

Putin also added that he expects Biden to “maintain good health.” according to CNN.

– I say this completely without any irony, and it is not a joke, he added.

Unknown if Biden says yes

Biden’s spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, said Thursday that Biden is still maintaining her statement, but did not know if Biden would accept the invitation for a video meeting.

“I have to contact you if something happens,” Psaki said.

He stressed that “the two countries must try to find ways to work together.”

Biden himself has not responded to Putin’s recent remarks.

Several other Russian leaders have also reacted to Biden’s statement.

– Biden insults our citizens and our country with his statement, writes the leader of the lower house of the Russian National Assembly, Vyacheslav Volodin, on Telegram.

“An attack on Putin is an attack on Russia,” he added.

Russian government spokesman Dmitry Peskov responded to Biden’s statement as follows:

– There has been nothing like this in history.

He added that the statement would “definitely not improve relations” between Russia and the United States, and described the relationship between the two countries as “very bad,” according to CNN.

– Threatened by collapse

Following Biden’s remarks, Russia sent its ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, home for consultations.

– The purpose is to analyze what should be done and what direction to take with regard to relations with the United States, the Russian Foreign Ministry has indicated according to NTB.

– Certain ill-considered statements by senior US officials mean that the relationship, which is already too conflictual, is threatened by collapse, it says in an embassy statement according to NTB.

The US intelligence chief’s report also claims that various foreign actors collected information that could have been used to influence the outcome of the presidential elections in November last year, but that this did not happen.

Former US President Donald Trump has claimed since Election Day last year that there was widespread voter fraud during the US presidential election, but has provided no evidence.

Russia denies all the allegations in the report.
