NEW YORK (Dagbladet): The shooting in Kenosha, Wisconsin, last Sunday has sparked large demonstrations and riots. Blake is black and the police officer is white. Thus, new accusations of racism and police violence have erupted.
On Tuesday, the very tense situation took a fatal turn. They then shot three people. Two of them died and a third was seriously injured. A 17-year-old, who was allegedly part of a self-proclaimed militia, is charged in the shooting.
“Jacob Blake is no longer tied to the hospital bed,” his attorney said Friday, according to the AP.
“He simply justified the murder”

Police Officer Rusten Sheskey has been identified as the police officer who fired the shots during the incident that was filmed. Blake was shot seven times in the rear outside of his car. Inside the car were his three children, ages three to eight.
Blake’s father told the Chicago Sun-Times on Thursday that he was upset that his son was chained to a hospital bed in Milwaukee because he was lame and couldn’t go anywhere.
– Why have they called iron around my son’s ankle? He can’t get up even if he wants to, says his father, Jacob Blake senior in an interview with CNN.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office says Blake is no longer in their custody after posting bail.
Fortunately, a man who is paralyzed and fighting for his life after being shot seven times in the back will no longer have to deal with the pain of having his ankles and wrists chained or the trauma of having an armed guard. Blake’s attorneys Ben Crump, Patrick Salvi and B’Ivory Lamarr said in a statement, according to AP.

Police have stated that they originally visited Blake on Sunday after a report that Blake was at a woman’s home where he was not allowed to be. It is also said that he was charged with a felony when he was shot.
The circumstances surrounding what actually happened remain controversial. Police claim Blake had a knife in the car when he was shot. However, the video of the shooting does not show any knives. Police officers do not appear to be in immediate danger either.
Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers was asked if he was concerned that Blake was chained to a hospital bed.
– Yes, to hell, answered the democratic governor.
– Self defense
The 17-year-old, who among other things is accused of two murders, has a lawyer in profile, Lin Wood.
– He acted in self-defense. Murder charges cannot be supported on the basis of facts. It is a shocking murder what is happening now against this 17-year-old boy, Wood writes on Twitter, according to Reuters.
Videos shared on social media also show the 17-year-old running alongside dozens of protesters and police with an automatic weapon in the middle of an open street.
Police believe the 17-year-old traveled to Kenosha, about 50 miles from where he lives, in Antioch, Illinois. It is suspected that he came to Kenosha, to be part of a militia that claimed to defend the city from protesters.
The entire United States has been following the dramatic situation, which has been happening in parallel with the Republican National Convention this week. Athletes have gone on strike and politicians have condemned both the violence and the behavior of the police.
It all comes after a long summer of huge protests against police violence and demonstrations across the United States.
On Friday, the former first lady of the United States, Michelle Obama, came out and condemned the racism and the shooting.
– I’m devastated by the Kenosha shootings. And I can’t stop thinking about what our children see every day and our obligations to them in the future, he writes on Twitter.
He also had some harsh words against the Trump administration.
At the Trump meeting
On social media, the 17-year-old expresses his support for the police and the slogan “Blue Lives Matter.” He was also seen in the front row during an election rally for US President Donald Trump on January 30 in Des Moines, writes Buzzfeed.

Trump himself has spent a lot of time in the election campaign trying to emerge as the “law and order” candidate, while at the same time completely wrongly claiming that Democrats support the anarchists and extremists ravaging American cities.
The 17-year-old is being held until further notice and did not attend the prison meeting on Friday.
