Iran is warning the United States and President Donald Trump not to make a “strategic mistake.” Write the news agency AFP.

The warning comes after Trump came out and said the United States would crack down on any attempt to avenge the assassination of General Qasem Soleimani.

“All of Iran’s attacks, in some form, against the United States will be met with an attack on Iran that is a thousand times greater,” Trump wrote on Twitter previously.

Trump’s threat comes in the wake of multiple media reports citing anonymous sources that Iran has planned to kill one of the U.S. ambassadors in retaliation for Soleimani’s death.

Trump order

An American drone killed Soleimani in January. The drone strike was ordered by President Trump, a Pentagon statement said in January.

“By order of the president, the US military has taken steps to protect US personnel abroad by killing Qasem Soleimani, the leader of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, an organization considered by the United States as a terrorist organization,” the statement said.
