The start is over in the racism case of Saturday’s game against Sandefjord.

KRISTIANSAND: A Start fan has been suspended for 60 Sparebanken Sør Arena games after racist comments against Sandefjord player Brice Wembangomo on Saturday night.
According to the Start website, the supporter has acknowledged the statements.
– It was clearly racist. He asked a dark-skinned opponent to return home, fan leader Kai Rune Karlsen told Fædrelandsvennen on Sunday.
– I think it is fair. So we are open to people making an effort to change. We don’t want to make racist comments in the stadium, but we don’t want to ban people either. So if we see that work is being done and attitudes are changing, we are open to looking at this again, Start General Manager Christopher MacConnacher tells Fædrelandsvennen.

Start’s fan club Tigerberget announced this weekend that it had banned one person.
May receive a reduced penalty
The club’s sanctions committee agrees that the fan has violated point number five of the club’s sanctions regulations:
“Serious harassment or incitement to hatred on the grounds of ethnic origin, religion or orientation.”
The club also writes that the exclusion of matches can be reduced if the person shows “a significant willingness to change their attitude.”
