On Tuesday morning, the police took action against three addresses associated with Idar Vollvik in Bergen. At the same time, they arrested the founder of the series and confiscated both a face mask and electronic equipment.
On Wednesday, another person was charged in the case. DN is informed that it is Anita Vollvik, who is the CEO of Vovi como, the company that has sold the bandages. Anita Vollvik is the wife of Idar Vollvik. She is also a member of the Vovi as board of directors, but her husband owns the entire company, according to Bizweb.
DN has been unable to obtain a comment from Anita Vollvik on the case.
– I cannot say anything else about the accusation out of consideration of the duty of confidentiality, police lawyer Sigrid Sulland told DN on Thursday afternoon.
Idar Vollvik is accused of violating the Medical Equipment Act.
– The other person is accused of the same disposition, says Sulland.
– What has the other person done?
– I can’t go into that in detail at the moment, says Sulland.
Not apprehended
Anita Vollvik had not yet been summoned for questioning Tuesday morning. She has not been arrested, but the police have conducted an electronic seizure, according to the police attorney. Anita Vollvik has not been appointed a public defender.
On Thursday afternoon, Idar Vollvik posted a press release on the Ludostore website for the first time after the arrest.
– I must also deeply regret the inconvenience in relation to customers who have already received incorrectly labeled masks or who have had to wait for their orders. “We are in full swing to clean this up. Of course, we will also go with the import link to make sure they improve their routines to ensure quality,” he wrote.
Denies criminal guilt
Idar Vollvik admits to having wrapped a bandage, but denies his criminal guilt. According to him, the company repackaged the water-damaged containers. Also, they repackaged the face masks into smaller packages.
Vovi has invested heavily in face masks since the crown crisis hit Norway. In early August, DN wrote that Vollvik had bought a microphone for NOK 50 million and that the sale now represents 90 percent of his business. At most, it has sold 33 sanitary pads per second, and a total of 1.6 million in three days, spread over 16,000 orders.
According to the press release, only one shipment has been repackaged. Idar Vollvik claims that they may have received the wrong type of mask in shipment and that it is now being investigated.
