The Norwegian Data Inspectorate has notified the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (FHI) about application-related ordering decisions.

The reason for the notification is that the Norwegian Data Inspectorate believes that there are deficiencies in the treatment protocol and the analysis of risks and vulnerabilities that have been carried out in relation to the application solution.
The purpose of the application is set as “digital infection tracking”.
This is not good enough, according to the Danish Data Protection Agency.
– The app actually has various purposes, like tracking and alerting about covid-19 infection, monitoring population movements, analysis work and research. This will be declared in a protocol, director Bjørn Erik Thon says in a statement Tuesday night.
FHI received notification of the order on Friday. On their websites, FHI states that they agree that the app raises several “privacy concerns.”
– We emphasize that the two purposes of the application are communicated consistently in all communications related to the application, both in the privacy statement, the privacy impact assessment (DPIA), news cases and online texts , in interviews and press conferences. The two purposes of the application are also enshrined in the regulations. The fact that this is formulated for parents in the treatment protocol should, of course, change immediately, Gun Peggy Knudsen, acting assistant director of the Institute of Public Health says in an update on the website.
Data Inspection continues with the FHI control case and enforcement. The audit will analyze issues related to the purpose, usefulness, collection and storage of personal data, the statement indicates.
