Increase in infections in six counties

Six counties have had an increase in reported cases in the last week. These are Innlandet, Agder, Møre og Romsdal, Viken, Vestfold and Telemark and Oslo.

It appears in the FHI report for week 35.

There has been a decrease in Vestland, Rogaland, Trøndelag and Nordland, while the figures have been unchanged in Troms and Finnmark.

Oslo still has the highest infection rate compared to the population. Here now there are 34 infected per 100,000 inhabitants.

A total of 374 people were diagnosed with corona infection last week. During the last two weeks, the number of infected is 13.6 per 100,000 inhabitants.

The infection number r, which indicates how many people each infected person transmits, is estimated to be 0.78 after August 1.

Information about the country in which you have been infected is only available for just over half of new cases in the last two weeks. Of these, 82% have been infected in Norway and 18 abroad.

There have been 67 cases of corona in people who have traveled to “red” countries that require quarantine upon entering Norway, while there are four cases among people who have been in “yellow” countries.

The infection occurs mainly in relation to local outbreaks, but also among people who have been infected abroad, mainly in countries covered by the quarantine obligation, the report indicates.
