(Celtic 1-3 Milan) Jens Petter Hauge (21) scored and emerged victorious from the “Norwegian” match against Kristoffer Ajer (22) and Mohamed Elyounoussi (26), who impressed against the Italian giant.

Milan led 2-0 when Hauge stayed on the sidelines and prepared for his Europa League debut. However, just before entering the field, another Norwegian substitute secured a dramatic end to the match. Mohamed Elyounoussi is not known as the most dominant heading player, but he nodded in the reduction room before the end.

However, it was to be the night of Hauge and Milan. In extra time, he scored his first goal for his new club. Bodøværingen received the ball and used two touches to be left alone with the goalkeeper. There he got the ball rolling safely, as Norwegian fans have seen him do so many times earlier this season. After the game, he was greeted with a smile and congratulations from “Moi”.

– I am very happy to have scored my first goal for the club. It came at a good time as we were under pressure and Celtic pushed for a draw. The third goal secured the match for us, and we are in a good position after winning the first game away from home, says Hauge in a post-match interview, reproduced by uefa.com.

Hauge is the first Norwegian to score for Milan since Steinar Nilsen 22 years ago. Milan top Serie A and are undefeated in their last 21 matches in all competitions.

– I am very happy with the team’s morale. I think the secret to success is that we are all heading in the same direction. We are a young team, but everyone is eager to learn more and develop. We didn’t waste a minute of training, says Milan manager Stefano Pioli after the match.

For Celtic, Kristoffer Ajer occasionally impressed a lot. The Milan club has already showed interest in the Norwegian national team midfielder, who on several occasions stopped Zlatan Ibrahimovic and company. Ajer also showed his long divisions on the field and created problems for the red and black defense.

However, Ajer’s heroic efforts at his own box were not enough. Milan created enough trouble to take the entire boat south again. Goals from Rade Krunic and Brahim Díaz secured Milan’s lead at half-time, before two Norwegians entered the goalscorer list after a team change.

After a docile first half, manager Neil Lennon did not hesitate to send Mohamed Elyounoussi off after the break.

The winger made it to several useful outposts and eventually found his way into the area on his own. Elyounoussi found space in the box in a corner and stabbed at the score 1-2.

Celtic, who rose in the second half, pressed for the draw and a point, but time ran out for the home team. Finally, Hauge put the nail in the coffin.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could not create big problems against Ajer and his fellow defenders. The Swede was substituted in the second half to save energy for this weekend’s league game against Roma

In the second group match, Lille took a strong away win against Sparta Prague. Thus, Milan leads the group together with the French.
