With the motto “Norway’s most proven mouthpiece”, Idar Vollvik’s Ludostore is once again in the process of selling medical bandages. According to Vollvik himself, this is in line with the sales ban he received on 3 September in connection with the “repackaging case”.
– Yes, that’s correct, answers Vollvik in an email when asked by NRK if the sale is in line with the ban by the Norwegian Medicines Agency.
The Norwegian Medicines Agency informs NRK that the sale ban does not apply to all sanitary napkins, but to the corresponding sanitary napkins that were seized in the police actions on September 1 and 2.
– The sales ban does not apply to the sale or marketing of medical mouthpieces in the future that meet the requirements of the medical equipment regulations, Senior Advisor Petter Alexander Strømme of the Norwegian Medicines Agency writes to NRK tonight.
The police arrested Vollvik
On Tuesday 1 September, Vollvik was arrested on his way to work in Bergen. Police suspected that the Ludostore online store had repackaged the masks so that they appeared to be certified to a medical standard that they were not.
Two days later, the Norwegian Medicines Agency imposed a ban on the sale of medical sanitary napkins by several companies from Vollvik:
Vollvik himself claimed that he had only repackaged the bandages from 50 packs to 10 packs and did not want to mislead anyone. Later it was also learned that the bandages that Vollvik sold were not as bad as initially feared:
However, Vollvik remains charged with incorrect labeling and relabeling of medical equipment.
Vollvik: – Of course it weakens confidence in all of us.
Vollvik admits that trust in the medical bandages sold through his companies may have weakened somewhat after his arrest.
– Of course, this weakens the trust in all of us, but now and in the future we will only ship the original packaging, write in the email.
He also writes that he, like many others, has repackaged face masks from 50 packs to 10 packs.
Few have been aware of the regulations here, not even us, but now we have!
